Thinking about anarchism, why and how?

I suppose my objection to rulers comes from the fact that there is NO opt out clause. I can't opt out of taxes or war or slavery or even the police. The system is not voluntary, and things that are forced usually fail the principle of utility.

The idea of utility means that you wouldn't have to subscribe to inflexible moral code and that it couldnt be forced on you. You can agree to stuff and agree to contracts (breaking them is kinda dodgy ground, I'll get to that) but you shouldn't have one forced. I guess utilitarianism kinda makes the law redundant, just act in a way that brings maximum happyness to maximum people. I guess I see anarchy as max happyness for everyone (apart from the very small group of leaders, and even then.... I don't think they could be happy to start with) and from then on, you act in a way that has the best consequences.

I do add a few variable to the pleasure aspect, more in terms of quantity and sources than anything else. Pain and oppression and stuff like that is not only not pleasure, it is very very minus pleasure, so its most likely that unless its do it or die that its not actually gonna be utilitarian to enslave or murder or steal from someone, especially on a large scale. Furthermore, choice, equality and freedom all equal pleasure/happyness, so its desirable to be free and free others and give them choice and make choices and for all to be equal, which actually looking at it is already part of utilitarianism. Preference is good, as is cooperation.

I just see it as this, anarchy is the maximum utility, everyone has the benefits of good consequences (where possible, ie not under a landslide) and the system would continue to work, but whilst mainting preference. So people wouldn't murder one another because, a) murdering isnt that fun, b) morally, its wrong (usually) and c) its a lot of bad consequences, cos people wont be happy, you will be guilty and you might get murdered yourself.

Well something that keeps on giving is best, right?

Anarchy, to the people of this world.

You know, I've said this a hundred times, and I'll say it atleast another hundred more.

Why dont we take all the nationalistic and racist fuckers and put them all on an island with some guns and some tanks and let them just fight it out between the lot of them. Maybe then they can leave the sane people out of their shit and let me get on with living a happy life, free from their brand of shitty borders and restrictions.

Of course, we'd need a lot more islands because it seems like every other twat wants to impose some kind self serving control over someone. Seriously, why the fuck is it such a big deal if people want a different life.

I dont want to be part of the rat race or the human race. A race where half the people dont even get sneakers and there is no real winner. Fuck that, let me off of this crazy trainwreck and let me live a life of peace and prosperity with some like minded people. Seriously..... where did I sign up for this, where did I give permission to be governed and controlled, by the people at the top or just the people around me. I didnt. I never will.

If you honestly want to be a slave, I can't object, but dont drag me down with you.

Why do I leave it till the last minute to post stuff? Oh well

Get over your country, get over your flags, get over your borders.
They mean nothing.

If you want to die for a cartographers convenience, if you want to fight for your homeland there wont be anything left worth calling home.

Nationalism is just an excuse for cowardice, if you cant confront the world as people but as countries, you are wasting your time and energy and falling into a vicious cycle. You're nationalist aggression provokes more nationalist aggression and the sane people have to deal with your mess too.

Firstly, I'm a shameless hypocrit, I know it, you know it. Atleast I have the good grace to accept it.

Now onto what I have to say.
I missed greece, I missed london.
I wish I was there. I wish I was out there right now with my paste and my posters.
I wish I was better at this.

But I will be, I hope.
Its not just talk, its not just teenage bullshit, not just a trend or a phase or crap.
Its an idea and its an action and its a thousand other actions. The question you have to ask is 'Do I really agree with: police brutality, war, government bullshit, hierarchy, slavery and death?'

Ask by all means how can we fix it, is it practical, is it moral to do this and that, I love questions, but dont get so caught up on not rocking the boat too much that we end up going to the bottom with it. So maybe I cant fix everything, but I'd rather try for freedom than live a slave. And bollocks to your false science and guesses at psychology, dont tell me I couldnt do that. Dont presuppose cultural is the be all and end all of morality, dont try to tell me that we must respect genocide and slavery because its 'just their custom'. Bollocks to moral relativism, I'm a moral absolutist, but the only rule I carry is that we all act in a manner which considers the affects of action on those around us and we consider each one of those as equal to ourselves (in other words, do what you like, so long as you dont put yourself ahead to the detriment of another)

FUCK MORAL RELATIVISM
Indeed, FUCK CULTURE
FUCK BORDERS
Morality is not a geographic quality, its unique to all of us, so bollocks to your theories on relativism, since in all, a genocidal culture is not a culture made up of advocates of genocide, just a government that does.

Ok, I was just thinking and I realised that I kind of miss some of the old me. What happened to the crazy? what happened to the cynic filled with zeal, what happened to trying to beat the system and evade monotony. I feel like setting the world on fire right now, just to prove I could. But im writing this instead, go figure.

Hell, I even test write my LJ entries into word first to check em over and shit.

Igor! IGOR! Get me the lightning rods, I feel nostalgic! Now! Hurry!

Ok, lets try out the old cackle, it hasnt been used much. Here goes!

Mwwuahahahahaha *cough* *hack* *cough*

Needs work. Add it to the list.

I just got reminded why Im here. Im lucky! My world is filled with luck! Ahh to be favoured by fortune, yet once more it is my fate to wont for more.

A new car, flat screen TV, new games.
I could be hoping for a warm meal, clean water and a place to sleep.
I'm dragging a chain of guilt and blame behind me so long it could strangle continents.
I hope I can use it to drag a few suits down is all.
I am no better, and yet I realise my mistakes, and wish I could escape them.

Ok, right. Im going crazy to music here, going fucking nuts.
I tell you what, I still want the same thing as I did last year or so. I want to be free. I want us all to be free.
Not just from debt or hunger or torture, but from those who would make us hungry, make us slaves to their money and those who would torture us. Anarchy.

I write songs now, I'm too docile and unfocussed for stories. Maybe I'm just sick of fiction, I just want a real world. It may be grim, it may be a sobering wake up, but I want REAL. Not this little matrix, this little cliche we have. Fuck stability, fuck standing still, fuck public opinion and fuck the little groups that remove our thought.

I was on a train with a socialist (supposed) today, and in our conversation he told me that he hated explaining his ideas and that it was better left to the cleverer people to explain his ideas for him. You might have black fur and make a different kind of Baaa! noise, but fuck me, you're still a lamb to the slaughter. THINK! I dont care what you're IQ is, tell me what you think of a gift economy, tell me why it wouldnt work and why your chosen flock would. Tell me, use your head to explain an idea for once! do not quote to me revolutionary diatribe, tell me in your words and your emotions what you believe is right.

If you cant do that, you are fucking brain dead. I dont care how complex or simple your ideas are, tell me, explain and explain even more when I dont understand. DO NOT GIVE UP, if you dont get the idea across right the first time, keep trying. If you actually believe in an idea, why would you give up and not bother. I dont care how tired you are, i dont care how smart or how sophisticated you are, if you actually believe in something you should be able to fight it to the bone. If that isnt the case, you have no real faith in the idea, you're just there for the clothes and the cool stuff. Fuck off.

I mean, I get into arguements with my friends about politics all the time, even the people who agree with me. We rant and wave and shout with energy no matter how tired or how occupied we are, because we have an actual belief in an ideal. Wake up and start caring or shut the fuck up and stop peddling your slavery of thought to others.

Aaaaaaarghh!
Mwwwuahahahahahahahah...hahaha!
Wow, that felt good. Anarchy and peace!
Limited freedom is just a choice of chains, not true freedom.

Hope

Hope is an interesting thing. I do not know whether I have lost it or gained it. Cynicism and optimism go hand in hand, gallows humour and paranoia.

I think that we don’t loose hope in everything very often , to quote so much contrived shite, one door closes another opens. I have lost hope in many things in my life, and I have gained hope in many others. Hope is finite, and one hope has its antithesis.

Hope is precious, but should not be used blindly. If something you hoped for or believed in turns out to be less or more than you expected, find something else to hope for. I once hoped for democracy, a practical, tactical little idea that means ‘most’ (for a given value of most) people get what they want. However I no longer hope for a real democracy, because real democracy is just the oppression of the 49% minority and the benefit of the rulers, because our idea of democracy is to vote in LEADERS not vote in ideas. Leaders I do not put hope in, leaders are the antithesis of my hope, my hope is for freedom. My hope is equality. MY HOPE IS ANARCHY.

I hope for DIRECT democracy, not this democracy. Each person gets their choice, and most often people get what they want. I hope for a better future, so I do not hope for leaders, wars or money.

Hope is better than no hope.
Hope is all around us.
Hope is worth living for.

Anarchy is beauty

  • Jul. 23rd, 2009 at 3:19 AM

Anarchy is not just some political scheme set out to just change the way life is governed. It is a philosophy, an aim and a vision of the future. This vision may not be a clear mural of society, in fact, imagine a wall, where each person has a brush and paint. We’re just here telling people that the painting could be beautiful and could be done from little bits of each persons own ideas.

We might scream and yell for the removal of politicians and for freedom, but if we cannot also see the good in the world, we will miss the world we are fighting for and loose ourselves in the horror we fight. I look at the beauty of simple and free things, at the inspiration of music, art and philosophy and take joy from how far humanity has come, how great we CAN be, it is only then that I can look at the horrors of this world, and the monsters who cause it without loosing total faith in humanity.

Anarchy is the belief that every human is equal and that we deserve to look after ourselves as we see fit, but we also have to see that humanity, life and the world is beautiful and pleasant, that we have the capacity to make it beautiful, where now there is an absence of beauty. After all, A revolution without dancing is hardly a revolution worth having.

I find anarchy is the end result of a core beliefs, and I do find it hard to explain to others why they should believe it. I just see that we are all equal, all deserve to be equal, and that if we are all equal, then authority is unfair, because it removes equality. If you can explain to me how we can all be equal with a leader, you are a genius or a liar. And please don’t tell me that everyone is unequal, because I find the idea horrible, and do not understand how a being of moral awareness can claim superiority over other who must feel the same as they do.

I wonder… how do leaders sleep knowing that the people they murder, the people they deprive feel everything as acutely as they do, every sense and every memory, that they suffer and they strive and they love and they hate and live and die, like they themselves do. How then can leaders do what they do to others knowing that in their place, they would suffer just as equally.

I hope I never find out. I don’t hate leaders, I pity them. And I hope, as any moral person should, that the world changers for the better.

I've been thinking about what to do over summer and I have some ideas.

Firstly all the hull young peoples stuff thats going on, including the free music fest we'll be helping with.
Im going to work for my dad, use some of the money to get a portable CD player, get some crass on CD and get out in hull with leaflets and decent semi work clothes, should be fun. We have some posters too and that'll be fun too.

Hopefully we can get plenty of awareness and check out some of the A-fed stuff in leeds or sheffield, just hope Camilla is ok with us all galavanting off to play treason :P

Its crazy, it really is.

Taxpayer money on a mote, £6 million on thatchers planned funeral, us and them mentality. Our government is showing its true colours, if it can get away with it, it'll lie and cheat and steal.

Fuck the Nurmeberg defence!
Just following orders, just following the system...
It didnt work for the nazis, wont work for the US torturers and it wont work for MPs. Morality is not law, law is certainly not morality.

They knew they were doing wrong, they didnt care. They are not worthy of our trust, they do not deserve our taxes and they do not deserve our share of power!

I don't believe in politicians anymore, I don't believe in our state or our system. The only true democracy is direct democracy, equal representation for all. Cooperation, not competition. Politicians and media have you chasing your tails, picking fights with your neighbours, your kids, your parents and your community. They take us to war and foster rascism, they occupy us with poverty and carrot on a stick tricks. Ignore their bullshit, look at who is really causing the problems, take responsibility for your own self. If you let them get away with this, they'll just be back for more.

++ Personal recording #2119 01/03/15 ++

The situation here is pretty grim, we’re up in the mountains near *omitted* and its snowing like crazy. The Tanks are running out of petrol and can’t drive very far in this muck. I joined the TA to help people out in earthquakes and stuff, not shoot… shoot people. Well ok, not people but you know what I mean. We were out on patrol near *omitted* and one of them dropped from some rocks, bit Howard, someone got it with their SA-80. *Omitted* sprayed all over the rocks, it was horrible. Put them both *omitted*. It was a little girl and I wanted to cry, but I couldn’t take my mask off to wipe my eyes so I had to hold the tears back. Its sick, its horrid and its sick and its tiring. Why the hell cant we just strafe them all and send in the tanks, we’re supposed to be a modern army. Its all messed up….

I hope you’re ok, I think the camps should be safe, but I’ll come get you if it looks like they aint. I guess that’s why I’m out here, so you’re safe. We’re moving to *omitted* next week, hopefully some cooked meals, not this self heating shit they have us eating out in the middle of nowhere. God, remember when we made scrambled eggs in your flat, hah. That seems years ago, decades. That was right before Newcastle got quarantined. Well quarantined…. *omitted* bombed and shot up. They cant do that again, I think some people would snap. We already had *omitted* deserted in the battalion.

Got to go, We’re going out again in an hour. Love you. Keep safe.

Politics

Ladies and Gentlemen, I figure today is a good day to talk about politics.

The most common reason I can see for endorsing a government or ruling body is for protection, as my logic goes. The taxes aren't why you do it, the class system isn't why most of you do it (rich upper class not withstanding) and the beurocratic approach to people isnt why. You suppose that with all the nasty people out there, you need someone you have picked to defend you.

Execept of course, they dont. Those cameras? Wont save you from a mugging. That community support officer? He/she wont help you out. That cop car? they wont be responding to your call. That riot van? Well its probably not here to help you.

The only defence you have is the fear of the police, hoping that the mugger, or the gang or the kids with stones wont dare risk the police catching them. Except, a lot of people have nothing to loose, aren't afraid, dont care. Who really fears the police?

ME, YOU, the GENERAL PUBLIC. I'm afraid of the police, because I know they're more likely to accost me than help me. You're afraid because the authoritorian figure instills fear, its how they keep control. The General public fear them because we're all part of one minority or demographic of some kind, and even if we aren't that uniform isnt very friendly.

And the worst thing is, the system the cops represent and serve (Because they arent here to serve and protect YOU) causes the problems. The reason that mugger dont care is because he's been pushed around for too long, is the bottom of the ladder, and since the system wont let him live any other way, he's forced to commit crimes. If we had a gift economy, without the constraints of borders, rascism, sexism and the class system, if we could do what we had the apptitude and disposition for instead of the what the society mandates, we wouldnt have the economic pressures that cause so much crime.

Sure, it wouldnt stop all crime, but neither does the police, or the police state. Less pressure, less restrictions, less marginalisation, LESS CRIME! Anarchy isnt chaos, its the freedom for pressure, freedom from society. Unresticted life.

I need to get my arse in shape, I really do. I hate being overweight and lazy, and I'm gonna start changing that.

I figure if I start with running and stuff, I can get somewhere for once. My problem is that coming home and chilling out is much more fun than going to the gymn or going out on my own. So I'm gonna start by convincing chris to come running with me, maybe in beverley, since I hate this shithole, especially if I have to find my way around. This time I'll be having a laugh, so I wont get bored or lazy... I hope.

Ok, I just has a bit of inspiration.

I've had enough of seeing these stupid 'recreate yourself online as a misproportioned anime/cartoon whore' adverts. I'm sick if adverts for Wiis and IPhones. Sick of being told I can but this box set and this CD from amazon. Im sick of adverts trying to get me to spend spend spend.

I can't go anywhere without being hassled to buy, to waste money on shit I dont need and dont even want. Who gave these people the right to cluster up my skyline with billboards and annoy me while waiting for a bus. I didn't, I never signed anything, I never agreed or consented. If they want to stick their noses into my daily routine, I'll rip it the fuck off. Take your adverts elsewhere, take your bingo and your cars, take your artsy posters and crass marketing, and LEAVE ME ALONE.

I can't put anything so intrusive up in my house, I'd need planning permission for it to be in the garden, and yet we have billboards everywhere. Who decided that was ok? oh thats right, the self absorbed, self serving mini-nazis in the local council. How is that fair? Well I know the answer, it isn't, but well thats aparent as far as I'm concerned.

Screw a TV in every house, a car in every drive, how about a molotov cocktail in every window, a fire in every bank, a riot in every street. Atleast when the world is just ash, I wont have to look at that damn curry's advert.
